Job Description

Associate Director, Analytics

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking an Associate Director, Analytics to lead the implementation and delivery of standardized, interactive, dynamic, and self-service data and analytics at MSKCC, supporting data-driven decision-making. You will also manage talent and provide technical direction and career development to a team of data and analytics developers. In addition, you will prioritize requirements from sponsors and stakeholders and guide developers and analysts in the build, and configuration implementation of tools supporting key operational, business, or research needs.

In addition, you will collaborate with the analytics teams to drive unified approaches in architecture and technologies for data-driven delivery of insights. Leverage best practices for driving employee and health consumer insights, infused into business operations and processes. Work closely with leadership to prioritize the team's efforts to drive enterprise centric outcomes, aligned with strategic roadmaps of the institution.

Role Overview:

    Deliver self-serve data and insights needs for clinicians, researchers, and other staff at MSK.
  • Enable modern dashboards with enterprise metrics delivered through data models for employees and health consumers
  • Enhance the efficiency of self-service data tools to provide the business flexibility to submit their data and insights requests using business terminology and have the Analytics environment respond without a human in the loop to help translate their request
  • Provide feedback and guidance to team members and help them develop professionally.
  • Facilitate the development of modern analytics skills including Python, cloud skills on AWS, and knowledge graphs, and coach and guide the team to get hands-on familiarity with these technologies to help deliver the modernized Analytics platform for MSK stakeholders.
  • Guide frontline managers on leadership skills instilling empathy, creating an inclusive environment, and coaching support for career growth and mobility.
  • Contribute actively towards strategic alignment across data and analytics teams.
  • Participate as a key guiding member in joint decision-making for enterprise initiatives related to data and end-to-end analytics.
  • Reach out and actively incorporate feedback from the active consumers of data and insights, such as leading PIs at the hospital and SKI supporting their clinical trial needs, and prospective recruitment of patients for interventions. or research studies and grants.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4- 7 yrs. experience in data analytics
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead technical teams.
  • EPIC certification is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience developing and implementing data-driven strategies
  • Ability to communicate analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Able to derive value from relationship building and collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to navigate evolving business needs.

  • Location: 633 Third Avenue
  • Reporting to Director, Business Insights * DigITs
  • Hybrid Schedule: Flexibility to be at MSK's New York City sites 3 days a week or as needed for collaborative meetings/projects.

Pay Range: $178,200 - $293,900
