What Will You Do:

  • Provide estimating and project development support to the Projects organization.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop project scope that meets company standards and operations needs to operate and maintain safely.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost and scope while maintaining needed functionality and meeting business needs.

  • After project sanctioning, work with project managers to refine project schedule, scope, and budget.

  • Lead efforts to develop innovative approaches to reduce overall project cost, and reduce outage time.

  • Establish working relationships with a cross section of stakeholders within the company, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and services providers.

  • Work with company subject matter experts to assist with the engineering needs of the region as well as continuously improve the company's SME knowledgebase and standards.

Who You Are:

  • Electrical Engineering degree.

  • In Canada, a Professional Engineering (P Eng) designation is required or eligible to register for a designation. In the US a Professional Engineering (PE) designation is preferred.

  • 7 years + of progressively responsible experience with industrial engineering is required.

  • Ability to solve technical problems as they arise and make decisions on how a problem's solution will impact the immediate problem and the system as a whole.

  • Experience with industrial power and control systems, including medium voltage switchgear, Variable Frequency Drives, Motor Control Centers, Circuit Breakers, Liquid filled and Air-cooled transformers.

  • Proven capability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines while managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Excellent project management, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Office Environment.

  • 10-25% to offices of customers / stakeholders which may include field locations. May include international travel and require a valid passport.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
