Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree). In lieu of the Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) and two [2] years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative experience may be considered. Two (2) years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative experience (Please note- An additional two [2] years of full-time, progressively responsible administrative experience is required if the applicant used years of experience to meet the in lieu of education).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience in a college or university setting in one or more of the following areas: academic advising, transfer advising, student services, enrollment/retention areas, supporting student employment, processing/supporting student travel. (Equivalent student employment may be considered). Experience in a higher education environment in accounting, and/or procurement. Experience working with one or more computer systems such as: PeopleSoft, Nolij, Oracle, Wolfmart, Brightspace, SOLAR, 25Live, Concur and Avid.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Staff Assistant will provide administrative support and academic advising within the department of Mathematics. The Staff Assistant will be an active leader and participant responsible for advising undergraduates, enrollment management and course scheduling. In addition, they will oversee the appointment of student assistants as well as graduate student travel and scheduling/supporting departmental seminars. The Staff Assistant will be part of a team that supports the faculty and students within the department and will be called upon to assist with general graduate and undergraduate administrative tasks as needed. The successful incumbent will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail.

This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,087 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
