Overview

TRC is seeking a 2-5 year Civil Engineer to support our civil engineering practice in New Providence, New Jersey.

Hybrid Work Options Available for NJ residents.

We are seeking an individual with site/land development and/or renewable energy project experience. Position will require development of site plans, grading plans, utility plans and profiles, soil erosion and sediment control plans, and stormwater management best management practice (BMP) design for a variety of projects, including but not limited to:

  • solar arrays
  • wind farms.
  • battery storage facilities
  • utility pipeline maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of permit and construction level engineering site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Stormwater management design, including grading, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling,
  • Preparation of a variety of technical reports, including stormwater management reports, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC).
  • Quantity take-off and cost estimating
  • Field investigations and construction oversight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology from an ABET accredited program.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification
  • 2-5 years' experience in land development projects, renewable energy projects, or similar with skills in site layout, grading, erosion and sediment control plans, engineering details, and stormwater management design.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2022 or later
  • Experience in use of hydrology and hydraulics design software, such as HydroCAD, AutoCAD Storm and Sanitary Analysis, Bentley StormCAD, and HEC-RAS.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to project work, including stormwater management, land development, and water quality.
  • Willingness to assist with various types of field work, including but not limited to soil and groundwater investigations, inspections, and construction oversight.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Have positive health and safety behaviors.
  • Have strong communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Responsive attitude when interacting with staff, peers, management, and clients.
