Conde Nast is looking for an Associate Visuals Editor to support Allure. This position assists the team with curating and producing innovative visual content across platforms (including social, video, digital, print, experiential) that meets brand integrity and production quality standards, while remaining on schedule and on budget. Candidates should have strong technical skills and editorial judgment with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once. This role will report to the Visuals Director and is based in New York, NY. Working at Conde Nast's NYC office 3 days per week is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with editors and other team members to understand visual/photo needs for assigned projects and contribute to pitching cross-platform ideas that ladder up to established brand identity and visual strategy.

  • Assist with all aspects of cross-platform photo shoot production for still life, beauty, celebrity and other related content, including, but not limited to:

    • Commissioning teams and liaising with agents, photographers, studios, stylists, hair/makeup, catering, and other vendors throughout the project

    • Creating and updating timelines, schedules, budgets, shot-lists, call-sheets, and other production documents

    • Attending and managing on-set production, as needed

    • Directly photographing editors, talent, and/or products, as needed.

    • Coordinating the post-production process for lo-res and hi-res photo selection and final delivery (editing, processing, retouching, color correcting, and archiving all files in an organized manner)

  • Own photo research, image selection, credits, and CMS upload/publication across platforms, working collaboratively with editors throughout the process.

  • Assist with negotiating and securing contracts, photo fees, and usage rights for all images (produced and researched), in partnership with CN legal and business affairs teams.

  • Track and process all invoices in a timely manner, ensuring that jobs are wrapped accurately and efficiently and that vendors are paid accordingly.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of work experience in photo/visual production or related field, ideally with knowledge of various image libraries, stock agencies, photographers, stylists, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of digital, social, and video content platforms and standard legal photo rights and procedures.

  • A past portfolio of work that showcases budding editorial judgment and the ability to creatively translate brand/client needs into high quality output.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (incl. Lightroom), with the ability to edit and adjust images for a variety of digital platforms. Skills/experience with animation is a plus.

  • Experience shooting portraits and/or still life photography. Experience capturing and editing video is a plus.

  • Ability to travel for various assignments and shoots, as needed/assigned.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $65,000-$72,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
