As a Gensler Project Architect, you will collaborate with a team of architects and designers to develop project designs, translate design ideas into 3D models and construction drawings, research technical issues, coordinate with engineers, and complete contract administration. You will join the Cities studio, focused on Critical Facilities projects. Your Role

As a Gensler Project Architect, you will lead a team of architects and designers to develop innovative design solutions for Critical Facilities projects. You will oversee the design, management, and technical aspects of projects from concept through construction administration, ensuring that all designs' - quality, performance, and documentation - meet the standard of care. You will leverage your deep expertise in architectural design and construction to resolve complex technical issues and deliver successful project outcomes. Your leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills will be key to nurturing the talents of junior staff and driving the success of the studio.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in all phases of design

  • Provide oversight of innovative design strategies on multiple projects

  • Produce construction drawings through BIM (Building Information Modeling) (Revit)

  • Resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative and constructible solutions

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to junior staff

  • Write and maintain project manual and specifications

  • Collaborate with project members, including architects and designers, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives

  • Manage project team and coordination of consultants

  • Manage client follow-up, calendars, deadlines, and meetings

  • Write and edit project communications for project teams such as scope and fee documents, meeting minutes, work plans, budgets, additional services, and schedules

  • Oversight of innovative design strategies on multiple projects

  • Work on new business proposals/presentations

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members

Your Qualifications

  • Licensed Architect in good standing

  • 10+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design

  • Master of Architecture or Bachelor Degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program

  • Experience within Critical Facilities preferred

  • Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office

  • Rhino experience designing ground-up architecture and understanding of how buildings are constructed

  • Experience creating technical documents that thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be done

  • Experience resolving complex technical and design issues

  • Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions

  • Experience working directly with clients and contractors

  • Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, clients and understanding of how buildings are constructed, the ability to create technical documents that thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be done

  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required

  • Built-project experience with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwell and /or Net Zero Building certification

  • LEED Accredited Professional certification is preferred

  • Strong experience working with Revit, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam

  • Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max,Rhino, and Enscape is preferred, but not required
