Job Description

STV Incorporated currently has a position open for aSenior NEPA Planner, in our New York, NY office with our Transportation and Infrastructure Division.

The planner in this role will work as part of our New York planning team and will be directly involved in all aspects of environmental review (e.g., EISs, EAs, etc., compliant with NEPA/SEQRA/CEQR). This planner will lead environmental review analyses, prepare related documentation, and manage projects and/or support project managers. In addition, this planner will provide key support in proposal preparation and similar business development efforts. This planner also will provide environmental planning support for various civil infrastructure and urban development projects for which the STV project team may be engaged by public agency clients to provide planning, conceptual design, and/or engineering services.

The candidate must demonstrate 1) experience successfully leading environmental review efforts, including performing analyses and checking the work of others, and 2) exceptional writing skills and understanding of environmental process and documentation requirements.

The role demands that the candidate have excellent time management skills, be team-oriented, and be a motivated, self-starter, who will take ownership of work and ensure exceptional project quality.The candidate must desire to develop and maintain strong client relationships through targeted client interaction and marketing.

This position requires a Master's degree (a Master's degree in urban planning preferred), and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience; or, a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.

Strong Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) skills required. The successful candidate will capably prepare scopes of work to complete environmental reviews for a variety of projects in New York, as well as in other geographic regions, as well as understand required levels of effort to complete the tasks in order to develop and manage project budgets.

Demonstrated success managing projects and staff preferred. Strong experience managing multi-disciplinary teams related to environmental review and planning projects preferred. Candidates with any particular or combination of environmental review experience in New York, for any of various types of projects (e.g., transportation, site development, planning programs) may be considered. Candidates with California (CEQA) experience considered.

Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Compensation Range:

$92,630.00 - $123,507.00
