Job Description

The Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory (CPTL) in the Department of Pathology & Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is a CLIA-certified laboratory that develops High Performance Liquid Chromatography and quantitative mass spectrometry-based assays to measure therapeutic drugs in blood and urine samples in support of clinical studies and patient care. The laboratory is led by Drs Cremers and Lyashchenko. The laboratory also conducts clinical TDM, and translational and clinical pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies.

The CPTL has a position open for a postdoctoral student to develop assays for various antibiotics and conduct translational and clinical studies with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), that involve PK/PD modeling and simulation. This NIH-funded project is a collaboration with the Divisions of Experimental Therapeutics (Drs Stojanovic and Lin) and Nephrology (Dr Mohan) and is aimed at developing aptamer-based assays for in-line monitoring of antibiotics coupled to automated dose adjustments during CRRT.

At CUIMC, we stand together because diverse experiences, perspective, and values enrich every dimension of our work. Join our team and see how your unique skills and experiences can create a real impact by changing lives.
