Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral position in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics group in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The successful candidate will be involved in the research projects funded by the NIH. Possible research projects include, but are not limited to, dietary and environmental factors in relation to the risk of chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and cognitive decline/impairment. This person is expected to help analyze data, summarize, and present the results, and write scientific journal articles. The duties may also include other tasks assigned by the mentor, e.g., being involved in OBGYN residents' and fellows' research projects. This position will provide valuable experience for a career in either academia, industry or government.

Responsibilities:

* Help analyze data, summarize and present the results, and write scientific journal articles.

* Be involved in OBGYN residents' and fellows' research projects.

* Other tasks assigned by the mentor/PI.

* Ph.D. or equivalent in epidemiology, biostatistics, anthropology or closely related field, with interest in nutritional or environmental epidemiology.

* The successful candidate should demonstrate ability in computer programming such as SAS, STATA, R.

  • Ability of independent thinking and possession of excellent communication and writing skills.
