Job Description

Your Role

As a Gensler Designer, you are passionate about your craft, have a sophisticated aesthetic and collaborate both creatively and technically to produce beautiful and timeless spaces for clients. You have experience working on the interior fit-out of guest-facing spaces such as high-end hotels, boutique retail and upscale restaurants. You have lead design experience with strong communication skills. You are an integral member of a growing design discipline within the larger Gensler team. You come with a point of view and participate in conceptual thought-processes and design exploration.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for the design quality of all projects they are directing, and proactive involvement in the quality of FF&E design across the studio.

  • Is the main client interface for the direction and implementation of the design and foster a genuine, accountable relationship with the client throughout the entire project and beyond.

  • Is a passionate advocate for our clients, ensuring that the design vision exceeds goals and expectations.

  • Manage the entire FF&E process from concept development to installation.

  • Seen as a leader who cultivates talent within our growing studio.

  • Defines a project's creative foundation by distilling goals, strategy and articulating a clear conceptual and critical direction. Guiding the team to deliver on the "big idea". Extends the concept across all project touchpoints.

  • Represents expertise in all furniture and decorative phases; ultimately holding the responsibility of overall workflow and design quality for the interior projects they are directing.

Your Qualifications

  • Design leadership experience, preferably in the Architecture & Design industry.

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Interior Design or Architecture. Licensed preferred.

  • 8+ years of Interior Design experience is essential; with focus on FF&E preferred.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with potential for future design director role.

  • Knowledge and experience in all phases of Interior Design projects.

  • Detailed understanding of FF&E design and deliverables.

  • Experience managing client and purchasing agents; resolving design, material, and technical problems along the way.

  • Proven ability to provide excellent client service.

  • Be proactive and adaptable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong programming and interior furniture plan experience.

  • Knowledge of Sketchup, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; with a working knowledge in Spexx (or specsource).

  • Proficiency in Revit is a plus.

  • Experience in Sustainable design is a plus.

**The base salary range will be estimated between $88.5- $110k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
